Hello birders,
Had look for Rusty Blackbirds today in Charles City and Henrico Counties
without success. However I did come across a single "Richardson's" Cackling
Goose on Turkey Island rd and got a few reasonable photos.

Also present were about 300 Snow Geese. This flock held a Ross's Goose. I
had managed to approach them (staying in the car) to a point where they were
settled enough that some birds were sitting and sleeping. As I was preparing
to attempt photograph the Ross's, an adult Bald Eagle flew over and put the
whole lot up. Half went over to Curles Neck and the rest went down into one
of the borrow pits and out sight.
Also saw the White-winged Scoter again this evening at the Wetlands in the
City. Still a few Canvasback too.
