[va-richmond-general] Reminder - Amelia WMA field trip 6/15/07

Reminder that Richmond Audubon will be having a  field trip to Amelia WMA 
this coming Sunday.  Meet Lewis Barnett in front  of the Ukrops at Oxbridge 
Square at 6 a.m. to carpool the 40 minutes west on Rt  360 to Amelia. 
 
Wear:  Long pants and  sturdy footwear and a hat.  We will be hiking on 
gravel roads and mowed  grassy trails.
 
Bring:  Sunscreen, insect  repellent, water.  
 
Note:  There are no  restrooms at Amelia WMA.
 
Expect:  To walk about 2  miles over a period of about 2 hours.  There will 
be an option to walk a  shorter distance of about 1 mile if you so choose.  We 
will also drive down  to Amelia Lake to see what is there.
 
There is a variety of habitat.  I was out  there this morning and found 43 
bird species (see below) and 1 groundhog.   There is also a nice variety of 
wildflowers.
