The James River Regional Cleanup 2003 is a regional effort to involve the
community in cleaning the James River. The cleanup is focused on more
than 50 miles of the James, including sites in Chesterfield, Henrico,
Powhatan, Goochland, Comberland and Charles City counties, as well as
Richmond and Lynchburg. The James River Advisory Council is heading
organizational efforts for the cleanup. The sites include:
James River Park System (Reedy Creek)
Dutch Gap Boat Landing
Robious Landing
Osborne Boat Landing
Westview Landing
Lawrence Lewis Jr. Park (shoreline)
Percival's Island

In Chesterfield, lunch will be provided by Luck Stone at Robious Landing
Park & Kingsland Reach Marina at the Dutch Gap Boat Landing. The
Department of Conservation and Recreation will provide each site with
brochures that have valuable information on what you can do to prevent
non-point source pollution. Scouts and other youth volunteers can receive
a free activity booklet that explains watersheds and conservation. Come
out and get involved in this educational and fun cleanup while helping
your community!
