[va-richmond-general] Red headed woodpecker today, purple martins last night

On the way to pick up my daughter at sleepaway camp in Prince George I saw a
red headed WP fly across 460 at the Courthouse Rd./Wagner Rd. red light
(just west of 295).  There is a rather nice looking patch of wetlands there
on both sides of 460.  If anyone has ever taken time to look around there I
would enjoy hearing what you found.  I always seem to be in a hurry when I
pass by.

 

Last night Mike and I went to RCD to eat before heading home and at 10:06
the birds were quite noisy.  Not sure if they had recently been
disturbed-maybe a late night trip to the fridge by a peregrine?  Sorry to
have missed you, Doug and Sandra!
