Don't forget the RAS picnic this Saturday. See the May/June Thrasher for
directions and what to bring, etc. Either your hard copy or online:
www.richmondaudubon.org. Linda & I visited with the Snyders yesterday partly to
help get set up and partly for a nice visit. I took a canoe out on the lake and
did a little fishing. While I was out there a male Scarlet Tanager flew across
the lake, and we heard several more. We also saw or heard Acadian Flycatchers,
several species of woodpeckers, Summer Tanagers, and a female Prothonotary
warbler flew out of the shampoo box on the floating dock when one of the dogs
went in the water, so they are back on the nest for a second brood most likely.
The water is great if you like to swim. There are canoes, one paddle boat, and
lots of Bream and Bass, plus Crappies and maybe a few other species of fish.
