[va-richmond-general] Re: Pony Pasture, 3/7/2009

I saw four white-throated sparrows at my feeder today. These chipmunk birds
are still around although their numbers have been declining slightly. The
same for snowbirds (dark-eyed juncos).

Subject: [va-richmond-general] Pony Pasture, 3/7/2009

We had a good turnout on a beautiful March day for the Richmond Audubon
bird walk at the Pony pasture section of James River Park. The highlight
of the day was a first-of-season Osprey sighted just across the river from
the canoe ramp. The rest of the day was pretty much as expected, with nice
looks at Bufflehead and two pair of Wood Ducks seen across from the beach
area of the Wetlands. Ring-necked Ducks were also present, though in
reduced numbers. Only one White-throated Sparrow was seen or heard, though
these birds should be around for a while yet. The Canvasbacks are still
present in the old quarry on Riverside Drive. Complete list is given
below.

If anyone who was on the trip would like to have this list shared with
them on eBird, just send me an email with your eBird login name.
