[va-richmond-general] Personal Pan Paddlers

8 pepperoni pizza'ed paddlers took float on Harrison Lake yesterday afternooon
for our Sunset Paddle and Pizza. The weather was, well -you saw it-spectacular.
Cloudless, cobalt blue sky with a beautiful sunset and as we paddled to the
take-out the rising almost full Hunter's Moon.

It was exciting to have 4 brand new faces to our flotilla. Recent rains gave us
ease in paddling to the far reaches of the Tupelo Gums.Fallen leaves left a
carpet of yellow on top of the water. Many fish were jumping and the main stay
of birds seemed to be woodpeckers. We had a nice surprise of a fly over Female
Harrier.

I had a blast and was thrilled to meet some fun new folks as well as the having
some seasoned veterans.

Bird highlights:

Great Blue Heron
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Pileated Woodpecker
Flicker
Downy
Hairy
Mallard
Northern Harrier
Nuthatch
Belted Kingfisher
Chickadee

....just a great afternoon to be out. Thanks to all who turned out.
