Fellow birders: Brian Patteson is planning two pelagic birding trips out of Virginia Beach, September 23 and/or September 30 and he wants to know who is interested in going. If you are interested in the birds of Virginia and don't get sea sick you may be interested in these trips. Here is a list of birds I have seen off the Virginia coast in September:
Cory's Shearwater
Greater Shearwater
Manx Shearwater
Audubon's Shearwater
Wilson's Storm-Petrel
White-faced Storm-Petrel
Red-necked Phalarope
South Polar Skua
Pomarine Jaeger
Parasitic Jaeger
Long-tailed Jaeger
Sabine's Gull
Bridled Tern

In 2003 we saw a Northern Right Whale, one of the rarest whales in the world.

You can check out Brian's website, www.seabirding.com and contact him at BrianATPatteson.com or (252) 986-1363
