[va-richmond-general] New yard birds

Along with all the usual suspects this morning, two new yard birds turned up in my Stony Point area neighborhood. First, I heard the rattle of a Belted Kingfisher, and caught a glimpse as it cruised north toward the river. (There are a few ponds in that direction, so it could have been making for one of those.) A bit later, I heard a guttural "kraawk," and looked up expected to see a Great Blue Heron, which aren't too unusual passing by. Instead, I found two Common Ravens heading southeast, into the sun.

Wonder what the rest of the day will bring?

Good birding,

Lewis
