Monday is the last day of the Great Backyard Bird Count. We are now at 52
species and I hope someone has found the following species (because we still
need them).
Peregrine Falcon (downtown Richmond)
Screech owl
Horned Grebe
Duck other than Mallard and Ring-necked
American Kestrel
American Coot
Killdeer
Gulls
Phoebe
Fish Crow
Wrens other than Carolina and Winter
Catbird
Thrasher
Palm warbler
Fox Sparrow and other sparrows (except
Song, White-throated)
Baltimore Oriole
Pine Siskin
Evening Grosbeak
Today, John and Caroline Coe got the Common Redpoll. Jim Strawn got a
Sharp-shinned Hawk, Pine Warbler and one more (that I'm sorry I can't
remember). 52+23 possible species=75. We could really bring this species count
up! Sue
