Join us for our 3rd annual May paddle to Merchant's Millpond in Gatesville, NC
on Sunday May 21. This is a beautiful cypress swamp dripping in Spanish Moss
and eye level passerines feeding their young. Alligators are a possibililty and
a good time a guarantee. BYOB or rent. There are Old Town canoes available at
the park for a nominal fee and although no reservations are taken-there have
always been boats available. There is no entrance fee.
We will leave the McDonald's at Route 10 and 295 in Chester at 6 am. The trip
is 98 miles each way. Bring water, food, bug spray, insect repellent, PFD etc.
The Thrasher did not list the meeting time of 6 am and my e-mail address was
incorrect...hard to find good help ;-)
