[va-richmond-general] MAPS Powhatan 31 May 2008

Conditions a bit different this week from last. Humidity struck and so did the ticks and flies-but the birds were as cool as ever. Nets opened at 5:30 and closed by noon. A total of 25 birds-some new arrivals for the MAPS season. Interesting to have netted both an Acadian Flycatcher and Eastern Wood Pewee for a comparison. Wild-flowers are blooming and saw Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, Eastern-tailed Blue and Pipevine Swallowtail Flutby's.

Here's what we got:

Eastern Wood Pewee
Acadian Flycatcher (male and female)
White-eyed Vireo
Blue-grey Gnatcatcher
Wood Thrush
Prairie Warbler
Black and White Warbler (male and female)
