[va-richmond-general] MAPS Banding Powhatan 13 July 2008 or Christmas in July

Well the birds just kept coming and coming today as 9 MAPPER's enjoyed a little reprieve from the breeze-less heat and humidity of yesterday. Pre-sunrise net opening with a total of 46 birds tallied by closing at 1130-not too shabby for a July day. Several surprises today-most notably- 2 female adult Worm-eating Warblers and a drop-dead gorgeous male Scarlet Tanager. The diversity of birds was as exciting as the volume. Sharing some photos with you of the birds getting top "billing" and a cute little young White-eyed Vireo and a "young-stah-Kentucky warbler.

Outstanding day!
