Just a general question - Would it be unlikely to see a Loon (species not
identified) in the James River this time of year? Today around 9:30am, I was
canoeing along Presquile National Wildlife Refuge and heard a 'loon call'.
Yesterday my collegue, canoeing in the same place, had seen a loon-ish
sillouette and dismissed it as a Merganser or Cormorant, until she too heard
the call. It has been seen by my collegue in the area called 'the cut' near
the shoreline on May 3 and 4th. Any comments would be much appreciated.
