After a few weeks of running around our yard and dealing with all the snow, the
Killdeer couple has once again established its nest in our driveway. I arrived
home yesterday to see the female sitting well-camouflaged on the nest. Not sure
what the clutch size is yet.
Fortunately, our driveway is a half-circle with 2 entrances, so we'll just put
up a cone near the nest and stick to the other entrance. Can't wait to see the
resulting puffballs scurrying around in our yard in a few weeks.
Good birding,
Kirk
