Anybody know European birds? This is from a school-mate who now lives in
Italy.

<<Birdsong
There are birds in Milan, but we could rarely hear them over the roar of
traffic. Here in Lecco we live on a very quiet street close to a small
park, and, now that spring is finally here, we hear the birds every
morning and evening.
I've never been able to identify birds (or trees, for that matter),
except for a few obvious ones like sparrows, doves, and pigeons. I'm
even more at sea trying to name a bird by its call. So, if there's a
birder out there reading this, you tell me: what bird is it that
whistles the first bar of "The Addams Family" theme song?>>
