[va-richmond-general] Henricus Wed. Evening

Great night to walk through the park. Most activity seemed to be down along
the boardwalk. Barred Owls were calling on both sides of the bridge-neither
were seen and nothing noted in the nest hole. A pair of Phoebes zipped about
all around the bridge. The Red shouldered Hawk remains watchfully in the
nest.

A Hairy woodpecker was seen in a snag near the bridge as were a pair of very
vocal Pileated's. My first Redstart (male) of the season heard and seen
flitting at the end of the boardwalk with Blue gray Gnatcatchers.

On the way out of the park just after sunset a mother Wood Duck with at
least 10 ducklings in tow paddled very deliberately in the marsh. Three deer
were seen on the rise along the main road, one appeared to be partially
albino.

Good stuff!
Julie K.
