[va-richmond-general] Henricus - Dutch Gap Conservation Area , 4/12/08

Though overcast and breezy to start, and very wet later on, it was a good day for birds at Henricus/Dutch Gap. First of year birds for me were Green Heron, Caspian Tern, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Northern Parula, Yellow-throated Warbler, Prothonotary Warbler (six or so seen or heard), Common Yellowthroat, and Chipping Sparrow. There were one or two Barn Swallows mixed in with Tree Swallows over the fly-ash pond, and at least two Osprey carrying nesting materials. Full list for the day follows:
