A visit to the Henricus swamp and boardwalk trail this morning yielded: Pied billed Grebe Double-crested Cormorant Great Blue Heron Canada Goose Wood Duck Mallard Northern Shoveler Gadwall American Wigeon Ring-necked Duck Black Vulture Bald Eagle (adult, soaring) Red-shouldered Hawk American Kestrel Killdeer Ring-billed Gull Herring Gull Belted Kingfisher Red-bellied Woodpecker Northern Flicker Eastern Phoebe Carolina Chickadee Carolina Wren Eastern Bluebird Northern Mockingbird European Starling Pine Warbler Northern Cardinal White-throated Sparrow Dark-eyed Junco Red-winged Blackbird There is no sign of nesting activity in the heron rookery.
