Hi,
Rex Springston, whose articles you have read in the Richmond TD, asked me to
post this request for help in providing information for an article on the James
River Park. So here it is. Note that he asks that responses be sent to him, not
posted on the listserve.
Al Warfield
This is Rex Springston, environment reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
I'm working on a story about "the nature of the James River," particularly
James River Park. (This has nothing to do with the recent Ralph White
controversey; this project was planned long before the White affair surfaced.)
Along with the story, which will highlight some of the birds, trees,
wildlfowers etc. that people can see along the James, we plan to run a timeline
on natural occurrences at various times of the year. For example:
Late February, early March: Spotted salamanders migrate to breed in a tiny pond
near the Pony Pasture Rapids.
I would like you to send me your suggestions. They can be bird happenings,
fish, insects, anything natural. I'm having a particularly tough time finding
things to include in the cold months (big surprise) so anything along that line
would be great. E-mail me at rspringston@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Tks.
