[va-richmond-general] Hawk deterrant

I recently moved to 17 acres in the country and I have an 8 pound Chihuahua 
and am very concerned a hawk may get her.  My neighbor has lost several 
chickens to a hawk and I?ve been told that my Molly would make an equally 
appealing meal.

Is there anything I can do to deter a hawk?  Would a few of those fake owls 
help?
