[va-richmond-general] Great Egrets at Dutch Gap

We were out cruising in Chesterfield County's pontoon boat last
evening at Dutch Gap with some of the folks who had bid on the trip at
last year's RAS Auction - a delightful & peaceful summer evening on
the water.
Just after sunset we counted 25 Great Egrets roosting on a island out
in the lagoon at Dutch Gap. Birds kept flying in and the initial
group of 12 birds we saw a half hour before sunset more than doubled!!
The Osprey on the electric pole out on the peninsula there seem poised
to fly and none too soon - their nest looks mighty flimsy at this point.
