9 birders attended the Richmond Audubon trip to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens on Saturday October 23. 32 species of birds were seen. Highlights were one of the young Green Herons that hatched this year flew over and landed in a tree next to the big lake between the Bloemendal House and the Tea House area. Another late to leave bird seen was an Eastern Phoebe . There were 2 specimens of Great Blue Herons seen in different places. Yellow Rumped Warblers were seen in several places and will become even more common in the coming weeks. Ginter has the largest group of Juncos seen in the area this Fall so far.
