[va-richmond-general] GREAT EGRET at Powhatan Lakes 7/8/08

I dodged the showers and the deer flies at Powhatan Lakes this morning.
Post-breeding dispersal must be underway as there was a GREAT EGRET perched on
one of the fishing docks that is under construction. A little unusual this far
west/inland.

Later at home I had a Downy Woodpecker feeding from my hummingbird feeder.

Powhatan Lakes is on the Virginia Birding Trail see

The dams have been rebuilt and the lakes are refilling.
