A request for information came via the RAS website today. Does anyone out
there have any ideas about how to handle this problem? It sounds like some
advice is needed quickly. Please contact Edith directly.

Subject: General Richmond Audubon Society Inquiry
I was hoping you could help me. A bird has found it's way into an interior
wall in my apartment. It has been chirping constantly for a day now.
I called my landlord and he said all I could do was bang on the wall and
hopefully frighten the bird enough that it found its way out.
Unfortunately, I could hear the bird scrambling even further down the
wall. When I bang now, there is no scrambling sound but the bird is still
chirping.
I have plaster walls and the landlord won't cut a hole to try to get the
bird out. The wall is in my bedroom and hearing that sound is just
breaking my heart and driving me crazy. Can you suggest any other
solution? How long can the bird survive there?
Thanks,
Edith
