[va-richmond-general] Forest Hill Park Field Trip & Rehabbers Shower

The Rehabbers' "Wild Baby Shower" was so neat. I got to see a Possum up close
which was a real treat for me. They are North America's only marsupial and
also are the only native animal with a prehensile tail. They have a life-span
of only 2 or 3 years. I think they have a terrible rap and too many people are
uncomfortable with them in the neighborhood--preferring to have them trapped
and killed. Up close, they are really not bad looking--which surprised me and
their fur is so very soft.

The little, huge-eyed, Screech owl was enchanting. I can't remember when I've
seen such a beautiful creature. And what a sight to see a blind Blue Jay and
half blind cardinal that someone had the kindness to rescue. I am so glad I
went. It was a marvelous experience.

When did you and Sue go to Forest Hill Park. I wish someone had called. I am
right over there. Gee!
