[va-richmond-general] Re: Eur. wigeon in Williamsburg--directions to 3rd pond

Wasn't there a European Widgeon near this spot about 10 - 15 years ago?

pond

If the wigeon is not found in the 2 ponds by the road then turn into the
Waterford neighborhood before those ponds and take the right on Waters Edge.
Follow it around to Vintage Ct. and go right again to get to a deadend at the
water. This is where the wigeon was yesterday along with ring necks, hooded
mergs, a single coot, etc. Kirk Andrews will post a full list-50 or so sp.
with mostly car and backyard birding. I think I have the roads named correctly
(lost my notes). Kirk/Nancy/Gerry--feel free to correct anything I messed up!
The 2 pied billed grebes were so far away on the largest pond that we had to
get creative to ID them without a scope. Many thanks to Bill Williams for
directions and hospitality. The tanager and oriole were beautiful in your very
birdy yard!
