[va-richmond-general] Dutch Gap Banding Station: 7 June 2007

Good time at Dutch Gap Banding Station in Chester this morning. Opened the nets at 5:30 am and closed up shop around noon. No shortage of Northern Cardinals or Prothonotary warblers. Much bird song throughout the day. The day started with a Red Fox running across the road in front of us. Deer were seen dashing across the path and little toads and rabbits were hopping about. Butterflies and dragonflies are out in force. This was a make-up day for us as we were rained out Sunday.

Here's what we got:

Carolina Chickadee (1)
Prothonotary Warbler (6 total-5 recaps)
Yellow-throated Warbler
Hairy Woodpecker
Northern Cardinal (6 total-1 recap)
Carolina Wren
Common Grackle
