[va-richmond-general] Ducks, owl

The small pond behind my neighborhood has produced a couple of interesting sights this winter.
We have an Eastern Screech Owl living in a duck box. Would these owls ever nest in anything this large??
And we have had a pair of Hooded Mergansers. These are the first migratory waterfowl I have seen in this pond.
