I've been following the e-mails about all the ducks along the James in
Richmond.? Today I went to Robious Landing Park, in western Chesterfield, and
found 90 RING-NECKED DUCKS?along with 5 BUFFLEHEADS and 10 HOODED MERGANSERS.?
Further west (upstream) there were even larger rafts of ducks that were too
distant to identify.
What is noteworthy about these sightings is that other than the occasional
Mallard, ducks are rare along this section of the James.
