[va-richmond-general] Re: Dips in certain bird populations?

I can't say I've noticed anything definitive in my neighborhood -- except for Bluebird and House Wren, which were always pretty hit-or-miss around my place, you can't spend fifteen minutes outdoors without seeing or hearing all five of the others. Of course, that's just "presence" data, and doesn't say anything about how abundance may have changed over the period of the study mentioned in the article. On the other hand, I haven't seen nearly as many White-breasted Nuthatches around this year as I have in the past, or so it seems. I don't know if this is attributable to the fact that I have stopped feeding in my yard after noticing lots of birds with conjunctivitis (even some Juncos) last year.
