I enjoyed a clear, crisp walk around Beaver Lake at Pocahontas State park
today. Lots of pretty birds out, and a very unusual visitor, too! Here's the
list:
American Robin
Pileated Woodie (pair)
Red-bellied Woodie
Downy Woodie (m)
Killdeer (pair)
Bufflehead Duck
Gadwall
Mallard Duck
Canada Goose
Black Swan
White-breasted Nuthatch
Carolina Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
Belted Kingfisher (m)
Northern Cardinal (hordes of them)
Eastern Phoebe
White-throated Sparrow
Song Sparrow
Great Blue Heron
Dark-eyed Junco
Eastern Bluebird
Carolina Wren
And to wrap up - a happy ending to a terrible thing:

Happy Holidays, all!
