I work at Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, located between Brook Road and I-95
on northside. For the past couple of days there have been large numbers
of sparrows about. This morning I watched a narrow strip of grass in
front of the building as a large flock of CHIPPING SPARROWS landed and
feed. There were easily 100 chippies, a half dozen juncos, a Song
Sparrow or two and a couple House Finches all together. But the amazing
thing was to watch the Chipping Sparrows "drop" in - a steady stream of
birds. Out back near the wooded part of the area there were more
Chippies and a number of White-throated Sparrows.
The birds present at Wyeth have definitely changed.!
