Last night at quitting time and this morning as I got out of the car, I
heard a Brown-headed Nuthatch squeaking away. Last night the light was
really bad and all I had with me was a throw-away pair of compact
binoculars, so all I saw was a silhouette - but it was the right shape.
This morning, I came equipped and got a brief but clear look at the
bird. If you're interested, it has been hanging out in the big pines
around the Robins School of Business and the adjacent parking lots along
Gateway Drive.
