[va-richmond-general] Re: Breaking the ice

I got a heater with a built in thermostate at the Wild Bird Center for a great price. It works great.

Looks like this woodpecker knows how to

use his beak.  He must be a red-headed icepecker. Would you love to have

one of them peck the ice off your windshield after a snowstorm? Just
don’t

peck the glass. We have a plug-in device that you put in the birdbath to

prevent the water from freezing; I imagine you can get it at a place
like Wild

Birds Unlimited.

Breaking the ice

The hard freeze this morning completely

froze the water in our bird bath.  Our resident adult RED-HEADED

WOODPECKER used his ice pick of a beak to try to break through - pieces
of

ice were flying until I took pity and put out some fresh water!
