Got rained out of banding today...but a light mist is my favorite day to be in the garden to pull weeds and plant. It's hard to garden though with binoculars around your neck-but the bird song was incredible. Here's some highlights from our little yard in Chester and the wetland behind.
Red-shouldered Hawk
Ring-billed Gull
Greater Yellowlegs
Solitary Sandpiper
Wood Duck
Green Heron
Great-crested Flycatcher
Yellow warbler
Northern Parula
Blackpoll warbler
Worm-eating warbler
Yellow-throated warbler
American Redstart
Black-throated Blue warbler
Prairie warbler
Blue-grey Gnatcatcher
Grey Catbird
Chimney Swift
Wood thrush
Cedar waxwing
Pine siskin
White-throated sparrow
Brown-headed Nuthatch
American Robin (fledglings)
Eastern Bluebird
Carolina Chickadee (nestlings)
Have a good week,
JulieK
