[va-richmond-general] Black Terns at Henricus

Our monthly trip to Henricus today yielded around 40 species. The most
notable was Black Tern. We saw six feeding over the fly ash pit
in the Dutch Gap section. To get good looks, take the path behind the
visitors' center. Before getting to the first path on the left, climb
the big hill on your right and look through the fence. The recent rain
has flooded the fly ash pit and the terns were swooping around the right
end of the pond. They gave us great looks. Two of them even flew over
our heads giving us a view of their underwings. In addition to the
terns there were hundreds of tree swallows in the area.
