[va-richmond-general] Bald Eagle in Mechanicsville

Hi,
  I just wanted to let someone know that I sighted a Bald Eagle in 
Mechanicsvile, Va near Old Church Rd and Rt 360 on Friday Dec 17 around 3:30pm. 
I was leaving a country store and heading home when I spotted a large bird 
through the trees over an open field. I thought at first it was a hawk but when 
I cleared the trees I could see it was a Bald Eagle. He was hovering over 
something in the field ready to dive. I raced home to get me camera but on 
return I could not find him. He was around a hundred feet above the field and I 
assume he caught whatever he was after and flew off with it. I will continue 
looking in this area and I will have my camera with me from now on. I will 
report again if I sight him again.
