At Shirley Plantation this morning there was a good showing of shorebirds. The best were a Baird's Sandpiper and a single Wilson's Phalarope. There were many Least Sandpipers, plus some Lesser Yellowlegs, Semi-palmated Plovers, Semi-palmated Sandpipers, and a couple of Pectoral Sandpipers. Bank Swallows were numbered in the 100's! Its great to see some decent shorebirds without having to drive all the way to the coast! Paul Bedell
