Hello birders,
The Ash-throated Flycatcher was still present at between 1 - 2pm. It was in
the same general area as described in previous posts.
Also noted many more gulls on the River at least 2,000. I scoped from the
Brown's Island side (north) this evening from 4:45 to 5:00pm. Almost
immediately I saw a large white winged gull on the rocks that proved to be a
2nd Winter GLAUCOUS GULL. Very pale body, white primaries, heavy bi-colored
bill (pinkish base, dark end) with a pronounced pale tip.
Also present were at least 4 LESSER-BLACK BACKED GULLS. Otherwise approx.
1200 Ring-billed, 600 Herring, 200 Great-black backed.
Arun Bose,
Richmond, VA
