The Ash Throated Flycatcher gave us great/long looks this afternoon about 4pm
along the Floodwall in the field across from the trains and warehouse. It spent
time sitting on the railing with a Phoebe while a Kestrel watched from a wire
across the tracks. The flycatcher would also dip down in to the canal then
perch in the trees and then fly back to the railing or the orange stakes.

Also saw Red-breasted Mergansers, Belted Kingfisher, Black Duck,
Pied-billed Grebe and one suspicious character in the parking lot. I was
accompanied by a 6'4" 200 lb Hokie so felt ok. We had a celebratory beverage at
Legends and happily got some great pictures.

60 degrees in January..."too cool."
