Spring must be bringing many birds to the yard (and surrounding areas) because
this morning, an OSPREY flew into the tree previously used [at night, of
course] by a great horned owl. It was obscured by another tree unfortunately,
but when it took off, we could see that it had something white in its claws.
It flew off through/over the woods behind the house.
I'm not sure what an osprey would find in our woods or field, but seeing it
made me chuckle - now from the house I've seen sharp-shinned, coopers, red-
tailed, red-shouldered, one lost bald eagle, and now one lost osprey! :)
Hopefully the warblers will start coming out in full force soon. The flickers
sure have!
