The Walkerton Christmas Bird Count this year is
on Sunday Dec 31. We always do this count on the
last Sunday of the count period to ensure that
there are no hunters in the woods and to honor
the wishes of the hunting landowners whose
properties we visit.
This count circle is primarily in the Middle
Peninsula in King William and King and Queen
Counties. Each sector has at least one site
bordering the Pamunkey or Mattaponi Rivers which
pass through the count circle. Many private
landowners allow us onto their usually off-limits
properties for this CBC.
