Hello birders,
I visited Shirley this evening after work between 6:00 and 7:30 pm. The
previously reported BAIRD'S SANDPIPER (juv.), WILSON'S PHALOROPE (appeared
to be adult in basic plumage) were still present. Also a DOWITCHER sp.
Probably LONG-BILLED but I'm not certain. Other Shorebird spp. Present
included; LEAST (c.40), SEMI-PALMATED (c.20), PECTORAL (c.10), and SPOTTED
SANDPIPERs (3), LESSER YELLOWLEGS (c.75), GREATER YELLOWLEGS (c.10),
SEMI-PALMATED PLOVER (c.15) and KILLDEER (c.20).
Ducks included BLACK, MALLARD, N. SHOVELER, GADWALL.
TREE, BANK, BARN SWALLOW, PURLPLE MARTIN (a few of each).
GREAT EGRET 3
HORNED LARK 4
