[va-bird] storm petrels in middle Bay

All,
Fishermen and charter boats out of the Northern Neck ports of Reedville,
Glebe Point, Mill Creek and points south are reporting numerous sightings of
Wilson?s storm petrel in the central bay, from Smith Point down to Windmill
Point and beyond. Jason Dietz and Lincoln Saunders saw a dozen or more on
consecutive outings last Thursday and Friday just off the mouth of the Great
Wicomico River. Ned Brinkley tells me this is their customary range from
late June to early September, but you must get a couple miles off shore
before you run into them. Halfhearted attempts to score them from the beach
on Sunday were unsuccessful.
