Birders,
While some folks are enjoying spring walks in the Dismal Swamp, we are
enjoying a winter wonderland. We have 4-5 inches of snow and it is
pouring down.
Three deer were busily munching behind the house, a big doe and two
yearlings. Too bad, we had to chase them away but shrubs ain't cheap.
Two quick shots from my trusty rifle got them scurrying into the woods.
Sure hope the BB's did not sting too much.
Naturally, birds are in a feeding frenzy with a dozen Cardinals, up to
seventeen Blue Jays and four species of Woodpeckers eating suet.
Cracked-corn draws them like a magnet! While watching four Red Fox
Sparrows kick snow in search of food, a four-legged Red Fox trotted by
scattering the birds. Maybe later, something "good" will show up.
Have a happy day,
