Greetings to all,
On Sunday, my neighbor, who owns a small native plant nursery business
in Vienna, and who has just completed construction on a greenhouse in his
back yard, called to alert me to a wondrous sight.
TNTC Robins, chattering away, were enjoying the climate controlled
vents which open according to the indoor temperature.
When I arrived, of course the numbers were down, but the birds were
enjoying a real gift to their habitat, fussing about on the glass.
Many springlike sounds can be heard around the woods, but even with a
golf umbrella over my feeders, numbers are down in the yard.
It could be a few days before I can enjoy even the starlings eating
the chewing gum off 18th Street in the District about whose lonely bird
presence I had fussed about when I had been envious of Scott's bald eagle....
keep warm!
