I just joined the list and recently moved to Norfolk. Birding the Tidewater
area is not completely new to me because I was raised in NC about a 2 hour
drive southwest of this area.
I work weekdays, during the period Craney Island is open to the public. I
would like to be able to bird Craney Island. So, if anyone goes out there
on the weekends, would they consider allowing me to tag along? Some of the
area birders have been very helpful and suggested joining area bird clubs
because fieldtrips are sometimes offered that go to Craney Island. But, I
would like to bird Craney Island every weekend. If anyone is willing to
tolerate me, please call me at the number below (I have an answering
machine) or send me an e-mail. Calling is preferred because I only check my
e-mail once a day (late afternoons).
My bird ID skills are decent. I am probably best at warblers and worst at
immature gulls (not very good with the peep either). But, I have been
birding almost continuously for the last 15 or so years.
Thank you,
