Birders,
Fill up your feeders, Purple Finches are on the way. About 11:30 AM, a
large flock (100-200) Purple Finches hit the Tulip Poplars in the Yard.
They did not go unnoticed by Sharp-shinned Hawks and by noon the yard
bereft of birds.
Also,
GC Cormorant (3)
N. Harrier (1)
Red-tailed Hawk (1)
Eagles (3) - one was a good prospect for Golden.
Sharp-shinned Hawk (4)
BROWN TRASHER (1)
Mockingbird
Pine Warbler (2)
Yellow-rumped Warblers (25+)
Vesper Sparrow (1 singing)
Song Sparrow (6)
Field Sparrow (4)
White-throated Sparrow (5)
Chipping Sparrow (15) - yesterday, the yard was littered with them.
Junco (30)
Red-breasted Nuthatch (3)
White-breasted Nuthatch (2)
Ruby & Golden Crowned Kinglets
Hairy, Downy, Pileated, Red-bellied, Sapsucker.
etc.
