[va-bird] not again

In the last year we've had rude postings from someone
who hated someone else's poem, strong language on the
pros vs. cons of hunting which turned into personal
attacks and now this. This kind of stuff upsets me
greatly. Every time it happens, I roll my eyes and
then I tell myself to speak up publicly. But I
haven't spoken up until now.

This listserv is for everyone who has something to say
about birds and birding in the Commonwealth of
Virginia. I wonder what kind of posts "C. Jones" (too
cowardly to use his/her name and town) thinks SHOULD
be on the listserv. If you see 2 Cardinals at your
feeder, that's a possible post. If you find a Little
Stint at Chincoteague, that's postworthy, too. So is
everything in between. Certainly, bird behavior is
very worthy of posting, and it's something that too
few of us bother with, myself included. Also, this
nastiness will have a chilling effect, as some will
wonder if their sighting or observation is "good"
enough.

If you are thinking about posting to the listserv or
responding offline in a manner like C. Jones, forget
about it. Instead, maybe try growing up.

Now, let's get back to enjoying the spring migration.
BIRDS RULE!
